They Couldn’t Contain Their Excitement

How could you not look at these faces and think about how happy children can be?

On March 14, 2025, we partnered with Every Arkansan to provide 150 Bibles to children across Little Rock, Arkansas. This outreach marked our first distribution in Little Rock and the beginning of a new partnership. We know many more opportunities will come as Every Arkansan reaches multiple communities across the city.

The communities we reached were excited to receive new Bibles. Our first opportunity to distribute Bibles began at the entrance of an apartment complex. Students ran off the school because they saw the familiar Every Arkansan van. They know the staff from Every Arkansan always has gifts awaiting them. This time was no different, as an after-school pizza snack awaited them. The children did not know they were also going home with a new Bible and a special note written by students as part of their Valentine’s Day service project.

This was our first of two outreaches that day, and it was also the one where most of the Bibles were distributed. While pizza intrigued the children, the sight of a new Bible made them happy—so much so that one child asked with a loud voice, “Bro, is that a Bible?” Another child proclaimed, “I am going to read this whole thing.”

The day did not stop there, as we had another group of children who were going to receive a Bible that day. We left the apartments to drive to an after-school program located at one of Every Arkansan’s facilities. We saw children throwing footballs, running around, watching movies, and conversing with their friends as we arrived. We walked to different areas to distribute the Bibles and inform the children that these Bibles were given so they would know that Jesus loves them.

One child at this site loved his Bible so much that he wanted to begin studying it. He asked, “When can we do Bible study?” We did not have a chance to answer him because he immediately said, “We do Bible study right now.” How do you respond to this? You stop what you are doing and begin to discuss God’s Word with this child. You do not rob him of that joy.

Our first Bible distribution became one of the most memorable and quotable outreaches since our beginning in 2016. It reminded us that God’s Word should bring excitement and joy to our lives.
